Peter Hauerbach is the photographer behind the hauphoto logo. He was born and raised in Denmark, had his photographic education in Sweden and has spent the majority of his professional life visiting and making travelling features from Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Europe and North and South America.
Through more than three decades he has taken pictures for Danish news papers and magazines as well as for international picture- and news agencies like Scanpics and Getty Images.
During his career he has worked within the lines of news- and photojournalism, portrait photography over fashion- and weddings assignments to commercial- and advertising campaigns.
Peter always enjoys meeting new people and going to new places. His desire for adventure has brought him to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, deep into the rainforests of Borneo and face-to-face with sharks and sea snakes.
Beside the daily work for news papers and magazines, Peter has illustrated a school book from Australia, two environmental report-books from Thailand and Malaysia, a schoolbook about Cambodja, a children’s book about the Danish Animal Rescue service – and published a book about mangroves-, corals and local people.
In recent years video has also been a part of the daily workflow – shot on everything from gopro and DSLR cameras to professional video equipment
Apart from taking pictures Peter also teaches photography in workshops, produces slide presentations and exhibitions.
On the private arena, Peter lives in Virum, North of Copenhagen, together with his wife, journalist Ulla Lund. They share the interest of travelling and reporting and work together as well as take on assignments individually.
